West African Resources Ltd (WAF), gold developer focused on Burkina Faso, on September 14 reported high grade gold interception of 18.33g/t from over 170 m below at Mankarga 1 (M1) prospect in the wholly owned Tanlouka gold project.

Managing Director Richard Hyde said extensional drilling at M1 South has intercepted mineralisation beneath a current resource area and returned 10m at 18.33g/t Au from 172m including 1m at 165.14g/t Au.

A further zone 50m up hole also intercepted high grade mineralisation returning 4m at 32.04 g/t Au from 122m, including 1m at 82.08g/t Au,” Mr. Hyde also said.

He underscored drilling is currently focusing on extending mineralisation to 300m below surface beneath the current M1 South resource.

The ASX and TSXV listed company, with a robust portfolio on gold in the West African country, will further disclose update in fourth quarter of the year.

This will be provided “in parallel with completion of feasibility studies for the project”, Mr. Hyde said.

West African Resources planed start-up heap-leach low-cost gold production at Mankarga 5 targeting 69,000oz per annum(pa) for the first three years.

The Australia based gold company is currently reviewing feasibility and development options for the project after receiving continuous, extremely high-grade results from drilling at the M1 South prospect .
