Aminex PLC, British independent oil company, has received the Tanzanian Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC)’s approval for a one year extension for Mtwara Licence of the Ruvuma Production Sharing Agreement (Ruvuma PSA)

The double listed company, one of the first independent oil companies to enter Tanzania in 2002, disclosed the year extension for the licence that was due to expire late December this year, in a release issued on June 27.

Aminex, listed on the London and the Irish Stock Exchange, is the operator with 75% interest of Ruvuma PSA, besides operatorship in two other licences.

These are 54.575% in Kiliwani North Development Licence and 90% in Nyuni Area Production Sharing Agreement.

The Ruvuma acreage includes the onshore Ntorya-1 Cretaceous gas discovery that contains 70 BCF gross contingent (2C) resources in the Ruvuma Basin.

Further, Aminex Plc has reported the completion of discussions with TPDC for the transfer of the drilling obligations in the northern Lindi Licence covered by the Ruvuma PSA into the southern Mtwara Licence, which includes the appraisal area for the Ntorya discovery. (Rutilance.com)
