Nexus Gold Corp, Vancouver-based mineral resource company, commenced exploration activities for gold at the Bouboulou concession in Burkina Faso, in West Africa.

Activities will be conducted, it disclosed in a release on 8 September, on four known gold zones as well as at a new area of interest observed on the property, following increased artisanal mining activity.

"The new area near Pelgtanga appears to be a deep structure, we’re going to get a good look at it, but the increase in artisanal activity is interesting from an exploration perspective," Warren Robb, Nexus Gold Director said.

Bouboulou is a near-surface exploration project where numerous historical gold occurrences of both length and grade have been identified in the West African country.

The TSX-V listed company advised that previous drilling has identified multiple zones of gold mineralization, in this advanced stage exploration gold project.

Nexus Gold Corp recalled historical results revealed, among others, 40m @ 1.5 g/t Au and 35 m @ 2.2 g/t Au at length and 2m @ 12.45 g/t Au, 4m @ 12.53 g/t Au, and .3m @ 81.32 g/t Au at grade.
